In this course I explored Constructive Alignment the basic element of course design. In one session I focused on the formulation of Learning Objectives (LOs) and in the other I applied principles of Constructive Alignment in student supervision.

This course is related to supervision of thesis or internships, at BSc, MSc or PhD level.
In this course I learned to:
Create a timeline for effective supervision (including strategies for considering expectations, motivation, supervision roles, intercultural considerations and feedback moments) ,
Apply conversational skills (active listening, asking open questions, LSD) during a supervision meeting
Reflect on my current performance as supervisor in real life supervision situations
Demonstrate motivational strategies to create a safe learning environment
Provide constructive feedback in an educational setting
Reflect on my roles and responsibilities as a supervisor
Conduct a 360 evaluation and collect information (data) purposefully to improve my supervision
Analyse evaluation results
Create a development plan based on my conclusions including tangible steps towards improvements.

I will explore how cultural norms, communication styles, and verbal and non-verbal cues can influence interaction with students. I will also work with practical strategies for addressing complex intercultural situations that may emerge while working with students coming from different cultures.
